Letters to the Editor - Time for a Party!

This is a hybrid event. Join in-person or via Zoom.

In the Portland area? Join LWVME, the Maine Women's Lobby, Maine TransNet, and others at the Equality Community Center to write letters to the editor in support of the National Popular Vote, Paid Family Leave, Trans rights, or another issue you're passionate about.. We'll have materials about how to write an effective letter and can help you get started. Can't make it in person? Jump on a zoom to hear about our legislative priorities and get some suggested talking points to use as you write. We'd love to see our members, volunteers, and partner organizations coming together to support each other in raising our voices.

From 4:00-4:30, we'll cover the issues and make suggestions for how to frame them, and answer any questions you have. After that, it's just time to write (and, if you're with us in person, enjoy some snacks). Stay as long as you like - and if you haven't visited the Center yet, consider this a great opportunity to come check it out!
